50 year anniversary celebration (1968 - 2018)

In October 1968, St Vincent’s Hospital established an affiliation with the University of New South Wales, what commenced was the long history of St Vincent's Clinical School under UNSW leadship. The first UNSW cohort commenced on 10th February 1969, a total of 45 doctors in training.

Our two founding professors (pictured below) played a significant role in the development of the Clinical School, and help built the foundation of the strong partnership between the University and St Vincent's hospital which we see today. Professor John Hickie was the Academic Chair of the Medicine stream, and Professor Douglas Tracy was the Academic Chair of the Surgery stream.
