Welcome
A very warm welcome to the St Vincent's Clinical School for Phase 2 of the New Medicine Program. Those who have been students here in Phase 1 will be familiar with the layout and facilities of the campus. To the new students, please have a good look through this website as there is much helpful information to get you oriented.
You will be joining a large cohort of medical students, not only in Phase 1 but your colleagues doing the ILP, who will be joining you here at St Vincent's during your Ageings and Endings and your Health Maintenance terms. There is also Phase 3 students and Year 6 students in the 3801 program, who are mainly attached to ward teams, as well as students from overseas doing their Clerkship elective term here.
Some important points to make your time here at St Vincent's very productive:
- Please always clearly display your ID badge (security is very tight)
- Please at all times respect patients and privacy and do not discuss any clinical issues in public places.
- Make sure you read the weekly eNewsletter and check the Bulletin Board section of this website daily. All changes to scheduled activities will be posted there.
- Don't be a stranger to the Clinical School staff. There are many ways that we can assist you
- Take responsibility for your learning. Adjusting to being "full time" in the hospital means using a lot of self discipline and fitting in to a complex environment where your learning coexists with patient care needs.
